The emotional moment between Tim Walz and his teenage son, Gus, has triggered a wave of praise and approval, but it has at the same time provoked nasty incidents of bullying on the internet.

But the show of affection provoked a wave of snarky and cruel comments from internet trolls, primarily supporters of MAGA, of former president Donald Trump, MAGA Supporters who faces Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Walz in November.

Conservative columnist and provocateur Ann Coulter ridiculed the teenager’s tears. “Now that's weird, ” she posted on X. The message has since been deleted.

Mike Crispi, a Trump supporter and content creator from New Jersey, criticized Walz’s “crybaby Acceptance Speech son” on X and added, “You raised your kid to be a blubbering beta male. Congrats.”

Alec Lace, a Trump supporter who hosts a podcast about fatherhood, took his own swipe at the teenager: “Give that kid a tampon already,” he wrote, in an apparent jab Public Display Of Affection to a Minnesota state law that Walz signed as governor requiring educational institutions to provide free menstrual products to students.
